Job description: The Legislative Study Group (LSG) is seeking multiple Legislative Analyst Interns beginning in January 2024 through the 89th Legislative Session. This full-time, in-person internship in Austin, TX, offers an exciting opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the Texas Capitol. RESEARCH ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP WITH HOUSE RESEARCH ORGANIZATION

The House Research Organization is seeking Research Assistant Interns to research pending legislation for the Daily Floor Report and other session publications during the 89th regular legislative session. PUBLIC BLUEPRINT PUBLIC AFFAIRS HIRING PAID INTERN
Public Blueprint in Austin is hiring a paid intern during the 2025 Legislative Session. REPRESENTATIVE CASSANDRA GARCIA HERNANDEZ

Job Description:  Texas State Representative Cassandra Garcia Hernandez is seeking a Communications Intern to work in her Capitol Office for the 89th Legislative Session, January – May of 2025. The internship may be fulltime or part-time. Salary will be commensurate with experience and ability. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Assist in creating Representative-Elect Garcia Hernandez’ floor report by analyzing bills and assembling the report; • Assemble the Representative’s binders for the floor calendar and committee hearings; • Assist with constituent communications and casework; • Conduct policy research as needed; • Manage office phone calls; • Welcome visitors to the office; • Handle incoming schedule requests for the office; • Conduct miscellaneous projects and tasks; and • Any other work assigned by the Chief of Staff. Qualifications: • Motivated by a strong affinity for public policy work; • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; and • Strong interpersonal communicator, with good etiquette and a positive attitude. Applicants with proficiency in written and spoken Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.

Texas State Representative Elizabeth “Liz” Campos

A legislative intern will work closely with legislators and their staff to support the legislative process and help achieve the office’s goals. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the workings of government, policy development, and legislative affairs. The intern will be involved in a variety of tasks, including research, communication, constituent services, and attending meetings or hearings. This unpaid internship would be a minimum of 15 hours per week, flexible. Key Responsibilities: Conduct research on proposed bills, policies, and issues affecting the district or state. Assist in drafting legislative reports, memos, and talking points. Attend legislative sessions, committee meetings, and briefings. Communicate with constituents and respond to inquiries or concerns. Monitor and summarize news and social media related to legislative affairs. Support the preparation of legislative materials and presentations.
