Model UN

The Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic organization through which students learn how the United Nations operates by competing in student debate competitions, such as the Harvard National Model United Nations.  In MUN, students study parliamentary debate, diplomacy, and current global issues. For over 20 yrs, Inklings has reflected the Department of Political Science faculty's diverse interests & addressed a wide variety of issues. Meeting once a month to discuss research and exchange ideas, visit their webpage (restricted to TXST faculty and staff) for a list of previous topics.

University-wide Events

Welcoming students and the public, many events are held throughout the school year, such as guest lectures, concerts, and conferences. The department's event series Discourse in Democracy regularly collaborates with other academic departments or the university's Common Experience to bring world-renowned speakers to campus. Special events have included:
