Discourse in Democracy
Discourse in Democracy hosts an annual series of lectures, panels, film showing and other events featuring prominent scholars, government officials, and community leaders . The events are designed to foster a lively and wide-ranging conversation among students, faculty, and the local community about the nature, foundation, and future of liberal democracy and the practices that sustain it, as well as involvement in public affairs.

Model OAS
The Model Organization of American States (MOAS) is an academic organization through which students learn how the Organization of American States operates by competing in student debate competitions, such as the Eugene Scassa Mock Organization of American States. In MOAS, students study parliamentary debate, diplomacy and the economic, political, and security issues facing the Americas today.

Model UN
The Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic organization through which students learn how the United Nations operates by competing in student debate competitions, such as the Harvard National Model United Nations. In MUN, students study parliamentary debate, diplomacy, and current global issues.

Supporting Women in Political Science (SWIPS)
SWIPS is a non-partisan student organization at Texas State University established in 2017. The group's primary purpose is professional education and development centered around exploring all facets of political science so students may discover their professional and academic interests. Welcoming any interested Texas State students to join and attend the general meetings, lecture series, and socials, visit Twitter and Instagram for the SWIPS calendar and event postings.

Pi Sigma Alpha
Founded in 1920 at the University of Texas at Austin, Pi Sigma Alpha is the only national honor society for college students of political science and government in the United States. Membership to the organization, which currently has grown to over 700 chapters, provides distinction and advantage in a competitive world. The Texas State Chapter, Rho Eta, was established in 1988 and over the last thirty years has hosted a variety of lectures and community-service projects.

Phi Alpha Delta
Phi Alpha Delta is an international law fraternity that was established in 1902 and has since grown to 213 law chapters, 368 pre-law chapters, and 109 alumni chapters. Texas State’s pre-law chapter is dedicated to providing the most useful and accurate information for law school bound students by visiting law schools and hosting professional guest panels and LSAT workshops. PAD is committed to creating an atmosphere of motivation, encouragement, and focus for all pre-law students.

Pi Alpha Alpha is a worldwide honor society for Public Affairs and Administration, founded and run by NASPAA in 1974. ICMA is the world's leading association of professional city and county managers and other employees who serve local governments. Promoting government leadership, Texas State's student chapter competes in a college bowl competition at the state Texas City Managers Association conference, engages in local community events and focuses on the professional development for public administrators.
