The Graduate College

Applications must be submitted through the Graduate College. The complete list of application requirements can be found on their website, including deadlines and fees.

In certain circumstances the GRE may be waived.

International Applicants

Applicants are required to submit TOEFL, PTE, or IELTS scores that meet the minimum program requirements below unless they have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a country on Texas State University's exempt countries list.

Conditional Admission

Applicants who do not meet the criteria for regular admission will be considered for conditional admission, if their GPA in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work are between 2.75 and 2.99. Applicants who are likely to be in the conditional admission category should also submit GRE scores and are encouraged to set up a meeting with the MPA Director who eventually makes admission decisions for the MPA program.

The graduate advisor recommends the stipulations and requirements for conditional admission. Students who are admitted conditionally must achieve a GPA of 3.0 in their first 9 hours of course work. When the conditions have been met, the graduate advisor will recommend regular admission status to the Dean of the Graduate College.
